Tried Everything and I Can’t Lose Weight
Can’t seem to lose weight? Carrying extra weight around your mid-line? Constantly tired?
Your liver could be the source of all your troubles.
The Liver’s Effect on Weightloss
The liver is one of the body’s most important organs for detoxification, and when it starts to malfunction, belly fat will start to accumulate. Our modern day diets fluctuate between high fat, low fat, low carb, high protein, nutritionally void foods and weight loss gimmicks that causes people to gain weight in the long run.
And at the end of the day, you have a liver that grows fatter and more sluggish.
If regeneration of the liver through seasonal detoxification is not practiced, the livers’ fat-burning mechanics are hindered and unable to work at optimum levels.
And if you continue on, your liver will then continue to be blocked, fatty and bloated and you begin to pack on unwanted weight which can then progress to other chronic and more serious health issues.
Signs your liver is toxic leading to weight gain
- brain fog, moodiness, depression
- chronic fatigue
- weight gain particularly in the midsection
- high blood pressure
- excessive sweating or body odour
- yellowish skin or eyes
- skin allergies
- constipation/bloating/indigestion
Liver Cleansing Tips
1. Remove Toxins from your Diet
Many already know about the negative health effects of sugar and processed foods but often overlook the oils used in cooking or baking.
The chemical structure of the oils in hydrogenated oil has been altered to increase shelf life but is toxic and causes inflammation in our system. Other common cooking oils that are highly processed and should be eliminated from the diet are canola, soy, corn, rapeseed and peanut oil.
2. Natural Foods & Supplements that Stimulate Liver Function
Include potassium and zinc rich foods, bitters and greens to boost liver function.
Dandelion root, milk thistle, artichoke and cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage and brussels sprouts are all powerful foods you can include in your live cleanse.
Alternatively, you may opt for Milk Thistle Plus, Beyond Greens or Flor Essence that provides a convenient, digestible and absorbable option to ensure you are receiving the correct nutrients to stimulate liver detoxification.
3. Drink Plenty of Water
Drinking sufficient fluids such as purified water, tea and herbal tea, improves the flow of nutrients to, and waste products from the liver. You want to aim for at least two litres of water each day.
4. Eat Sufficient Fibre
Fibre binds to bile and eliminates fat-soluble toxins from the body. Aim for 30-40g of fibre each day with plenty of water.
During your liver detox you want to be able to have at least 2-3 bowel movements daily. If you are having trouble reaching this frequency you may try adding magnesium citrate or an herbal formula like Vivaflore to stimulate your intestines without creating any reliance or extra strain to your system.
5. Sleep and Eat at the Right Time
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine’s ‘meridian clock’, our liver’s most active time for regeneration is between 1am-3am. However it doesn’t mean that if you sleep by 1am you are in the safe zone. If you eat a heavy meal prior to sleeping, your body will be busy digesting and breaking down your meal rather than working on your liver detoxification. So it is also important to eat a light meal at least 3-4 hours prior to bed.
