Top 10 Uses of Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has been a hot topic and for very good reason.
The more we looked into coconut oil, the more we found that it is more than just a stable cooking oil with antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Below are my top 10 uses for coconut oil (it was hard to limit myself to 10!)
1. Cooking
with its high smoke point it’s a stable and perfect oil for stir frying, frying, baking etc.
2. Oil Pulling
15-20 minutes a day to pull toxins out of your system and improve gum health
3. Weight Loss
1-2 tbsp a day in the morning to speed up your metabolism and give you instant energy without turning into fat
4. Digestive Aid
2-3 tsp mixed with water to help with bile flow (best done in the mornings)
5. Moisturizer
as a basic lotion or massage oil on the body, on the face as an intensive moisturizer, or on chapped lips
6. Skin Repair Serum
eczema, sunburns, age spots, scars etc coconut oil can repair and rejuvenate your skin cells
7. Antibacterial Rub
used topically on cuts, mosquito bites, athlete’s foot and orally to combat body infections (yeast, viruses, lungs etc)
8. Makeup Remover
gently removes eye makeup
9. Eye drops
to soothe tired eyes or to relieve and heal red eyes and other eye viruses
10. Milk aid
for nursing moms, take 3-4 tbsp of coconut oil a day (with Vitamin D) to increase milk supply and nutrients
